Who We Are

Living Faith is a church committed to making disciples who will abide in Christ, be established in his Word, love one another and bear much fruit. Our long-term goal, by God's grace, is to become an equipping and sending church that transforms our communities, city and world with the gospel.
In consideration of the above, we fully believe that every saint at Living Faith can have a part in God's great mission and can use his/her gifts to edify and serve the body of Christ. Additionally, we believe that the ministry of the Lord should be spiritually rejuvenating as we rest in the Lord and are refreshed by his presence. Thus our capacity to minister to others comes, not from our abilities, but from a place of overflow as we spend time with the Lord. 

Our History

Living Faith began through the personal witness of individuals and families who attended Midtown Baptist Temple. Besides the strong emphasis of people sharing their faith, in the fall of 2014, two college-aged Bible studies were created and a kids Bible club formed in the neighborhood of one of our families. As it related to the kids Bible club, over that school year, upwards to 17 kids from the neighborhood were learning about Jesus and having a great time doing it. 

As the kids club and College-aged Bible studies grew, during the Summer of 2015, God placed it upon our hearts to throw a neighborhood block party. Our hope was to continue to invest in the kids of the neighborhood, but to also invite their parents to join us as we studied the scriptures.  

From the neighborhood block party we successfully launched a family Bible study in August, 2015. Over time, that home Bible study grew to having over 50 people come on a weekly basis.

By the Summer of 2016, as it was clear that God was doing a great work in Lee's Summit, through much prayer and fasting, and under the protective care and leadership of our sending church, Midtown Baptist Temple began the process of planting an autonomous church in Lee's Summit, MO. 

And so it was, that on January 1, 2017, Living Faith was commissioned and sent out from Midtown Baptist Temple. The following week, we had our first service at the Stanley Event Space on January 8, 2017.  About three years later, Living Faith purchased the property here on Hook Road and we began meeting on-site in March of 2020.
